Meet the new CEO of the Cuyahoga County Public Library

Catch up quick: The Denver native currently serves as the executive director of the Wilmington Public Library in Delaware, and previously held leadership roles at library systems in Oregon, Texas and South Carolina.

What they're saying: "His vision, skills and experience give the board full confidence that he will continue to strengthen our position as a world-class library system and provide strong leadership to achieve our mission and move the organization to new heights," board president Allyn Davies said in a statement.

Between the lines: Rahming arrives after a contentious year at the library.

• Last July, CCPL and the Service Employees International Union 1199 (SEIU) agreed to a new three-year contract after employees at all 27 branches threatened to strike.

Outgoing CEO Tracy Strobel formally retired Sunday. Chief public services officer Pam Jankowski will serve as interim CEO until Rahming begins in August.
