"Superman" hype continues to soar with new teaser

Not since Captain America and company battled Loki in 2012's "The Avengers" has there been this much cinematic hype about superheroes in Cleveland.

Driving the news: A new TV spot advertises the forthcoming "Superman" movie, opening in theaters on July 11.

Zoom in: Part of it was filmed in Northeast Ohio last summer with downtown Cleveland playing the role of the fictional Metropolis.

Several previously revealed scenes are featured in the 30-second teaser, including Superman (David Corenswet) rescuing a young girl on the streets of Cleveland and a battle at Progressive Field.

Zoom out: There's also new footage, including a close-up of villain Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and an icy landscape that could be the Fortress of Solitude.

💭 Troy's thought bubble: The clip of Superman and Lois Lane kissing while soaring through Cleveland's historic Arcade is bound to become iconic.
