Cleveland Metroparks opens disc golf course at Astorhurst

• It occupies the rollicking Walton Hills terrain adjacent to Cuyahoga Valley National Park where the Astorhurst Country Club once stood.

Flashback: The Metroparks acquired the 127-acre golf course in 2017 with plans to restore it to its natural habitat.

Zoom in: The course was designed in-house by the Metroparks. It features three sets of tees (amateur, professional and "competition") and spans more than 10,000 yards.

• It's open daily during regular park hours. Players must bring their own discs.

Zoom out: If you prefer traditional golf, the Metroparks manages nine courses in its portfolio, two of which (Sleepy Hollow and Manakiki) are among the best in the region.
