Former NBA player Gordon Hayward's south Charlotte mansion is listed for $7,995,000.
Why it matters: Hayward purchased the mansion for $4.7 million in 2021, shortly after signing a whopping four-year, $120 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets — one of the largest free-agent deals at the time.
Context: Hayward, a small forward, joined the Hornets in 2020 after his stint with the Boston Celtics.
- In 2024, Hayward was traded from the Hornets to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He spent 14 seasons in the league before retiring.
Layout: The 8,838-square-foot home, located in a private cul-de-sac of the Olde Providence South neighborhood, has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.
- Inside the property you'll find features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, oversized closets, a butler's pantry, wine cellar, elevator and dual staircases.
Details: The 1.24-acre estate is located along the 16th hole of Carmel Country Club and offers views of the course and pond.
- Outside, you'll find a heated pool, spa, sun deck, gas fireplace, covered outdoor kitchen and bar.
- A detached two-car garage has a gym and a guest suite.
Zoom in: The mansion first hit the market earlier this year for $10 million. The asking price dropped to $9 million over the summer before it was relisted for just under $8 million.
- The home is listed by Valerie Mitchener with Corcoran HM Properties. Mitchener is behind many luxury listings, including one of the city's priciest homes, which features an underground garage.
Zoom out: Hayward is the latest former Hornets player to list a Charlotte-area property this year.
- Gerald Henderson Jr. is asking $3.8M for his south Charlotte home, located a short drive away from Hayward's mansion.
- LaMelo Ball's Uptown condo is on the market for $2.6M.
- Nicolas Batum's Lake Norman mansion hit the market for $6M and sold after a month.
