Two Buck Saloon has opened a new family-friendly location in Charlotte's Oakhurst neighborhood.
Why it matters: The popular dive bar, known best for its $2 PBR and saloon-style decor, has scaled quickly, opening four locations across the city in five years.
What to expect: The Oakhurst Two Buck, the largest yet at 4624 Monroe Road, will cater to the family-oriented neighborhood — both kids and dogs are welcome, says co-owner Brent Schilb.
- Much of the bar's core elements remain: saloon-style decor, pool tables, dart boards, free live music, and of course, $2 PBRs, High Life and Busch Light.
- Both the inside and back patio have stages for bands to perform on the weekend.

Flashback: Two Buck opened its first bar on Hawthorne Lane in Plaza Midwood in 2020. It expanded to Albemarle Road, near Mint Hill, in 2023 and downtown Pineville in 2024.
The vibe: The dive bar has grown a loyal following across Charlotte, but each location has its own crowd, explains Schilb.
- Plaza Midwood skews the youngest; Albemarle, the oldest. Pineville caters to the south Charlotte suburbs. And now, Oakhurst aims to be the brand's most family-friendly location yet.
Zoom in: Oakhurst, and surrounding neighborhoods like Cotswold, are known for being family-oriented.
- What the area offers in kid-friendly spaces, it lacks in bars and late-night venues, especially compared to trendier neighborhoods like Plaza Midwood or South End.
- And businesses are taking note. Sycamore Brewing is opening a family-friendly beer garden in the adjacent Cotswold Village Shopping Center next summer.
What's next: Schilb didn't share any current expansion plans but said he's not closing the door on more Two Bucks in the future.
If you go: There's parking available by the front entrance.
