The Comedy Club at Duckworth's will open in Uptown on Thursday, Jan. 9, inside Duckworth's Grill & Taphouse.
Why it matters: The new comedy club will feature a mix of local and national comedians, giving Charlotteans and visitors another entertainment option. Here's a sneak peek of the space.
Driving the news: The inaugural lineup of shows features comedians Leah Rudick, Liz Barlow local comedian Joy Wills across three nights from Thursday, Jan. 9, through Saturday, Jan. 11.
- Tickets are $25 for general admission and $35 for reserved seating.

What to expect: Located on the second floor of Duckworth's, at the corner of N. Tryon & 7th St, The Comedy Club seats 96 people inside the 2,500-square-foot space.
- Each week, a national headliner will perform a 45-60 minute set in addition to two or three 15-20 minute opening acts from local and regional comedians.
- On weekends, local comedians will rotate as the emcee.
- The Comedy Club at Duckworth's will be open Thursdays-Saturdays or Fridays-Sundays, depending on the acts booked, with a mix of early and late shows.

Dig in: The Comedy Club will share the same drink menu as Duckworth's but will have a separate food menu from the restaurant below. Expect shareable dishes like loaded nachos, wings, chicken tenders, fried pickles, and house-made guacamole. Plus, Philly cheesesteaks, burgers, salads, sandwiches and wraps.
- Like many comedy clubs, there's a food and beverage minimum. During your visit, you're required to buy two items from the menu, which can be any combination of food or drink.
- Food and drinks purchased at The Cellar or Duckworth's Grill & Taphouse will not count toward the Comedy Club's food and beverage minimum.

My thought bubble: Duckworth's just became a one-stop shop for a fun night out in Uptown. You can start your night at The Cellar, followed by dinner at Duckworth's on the main floor, and end your night with a comedy show on the second floor or any variation.
