You can get blasted with paint, foam or slime at Beat The Bomb— a new interactive gaming venue opening in LoSo on Friday, Nov. 22.
Why it matters: Immersive gaming experiences have grown in popularity, popping up all around Charlotte in recent months.
- Activate Games opened in east Charlotte and Game Show Battle Rooms in Ballantyne.
How it works: In teams of four to six people you'll gear up in hazmat suits for an hour-long "bomb mission" experience which could result in getting doused in paint, foam or slime.
- You'll start by completing four video game rooms including some with lasers or floor grids.
- The goal is to earn time on your "Bomb Clock. You'll need to disarm a giant bomb in the final glass-walled "Bomb Room" or you'll get blasted.
What to expect: The 10,000-square-foot space has a bar, lounge seating, gaming bays and arcade games.
- Its menu features items like wings, sandwiches and pizzas. Drinks include cocktails, slushies and beer.
If you go: Tickets for the "Bomb Mission" experience are $44.95 and include photos and videos.
- The hour-long game bay experience (which doesn't include getting blasted or hazmat suits) comes with one drink, chips and dip plus 20+ mini-games for $29.95 per person.
- A two-hour VIP experience, which includes a game bay play time, bomb mission, a drink and a t-shirt, is $69.95 per person.
