Platform Sports Bar, a new sports bar and lounge from the team behind PARA, opens Friday, Oct. 25 in Lower South End.
Why it matters: This is the latest addition to the fast-growing mixed-use development The Platform at LoSo, which also houses Chinese street food restaurant Sun's Kitchen, South African beauty store and med spa Kept & Co., and Matthews-based brewery Seaboard Brewing.
What to expect: A sprawling 11,000-square-foot sports bar that can seat around 350 guests across multiple indoor and outdoor areas, including a rooftop patio with views of Uptown's skyline.
- During its soft opening phase, only the indoor space will be open. The rooftop patio is planned to open in November.

The layout: The space is divided into several areas — a reservation-only lounge, a private events room, a fully equipped bar, a spacious dining area, and the rooftop patio.
- TVs are the main attraction here — they're even mounted above the bathrooms.
- The space features four media walls streaming up to 20 games simultaneously, including a 40-foot main TV with 20 screens.

Dig in: Expect a menu of elevated game-day foods. Appetizers include tempura lobster tails, chicken wings and fried calamari, and mains include short-ribs, pastas and a NY strip.

What's next: The grand opening celebration is set for November, including the opening of its rooftop patio, dubbed "PS at the Platform."
- It'll feature a retractable roof that's the first of its kind in the Carolinas, according to a press release.
Between the lines: Platform is a new venture led by Parliament Group, the same team behind South End restaurant PARA, along with former Panther players Charles Johnson and Kawaan Short.
Zoom out: The Platform at LoSo is quickly shaping up as a hub for dining, wellness, and more, especially for locally-owned businesses.
- Several already open include Chinese restaurant Sun's Kitchen, contrast therapy club Plunge House, taproom and restaurant Seaboard LoSo and South African med spa Kept & Co.

If you go: Platform's Friday soft opening begins at 8pm on Oct. 25.
Stop by: Find Platform Sports at 3216 S. Boulevard at The Platform at LoSo — once there, take the elevator up to the third floor.
- Open Monday 4pm-midnight, Thursday- Friday 4pm-2am and Saturday-Sunday 11am-2am.
