Kept & Co., a new beauty store, med spa and salon with South African influences, will open at The Platform at LoSo on Aug. 26.
Why it matters: The owners of Kept & Co. are originally from South Africa and aim to showcase their cultural roots through the salon's design and offerings.
What to expect: Med spa services, a nail salon and a gift shop under one roof.
- Medspa treatments include dermaplanning, chemical peels, facials, botox, and microneedling and use products from upscale skincare brands like Skinbetter. (many of which are available for purchase, too).
- Nail care services include varying manicures and pedicures, plus add-ons like nail art and chrome finishes.
- All of the retail is imported from South Africa, with a focus on lifestyle products like candles, lotions, cookware and accessories, to name a few.
- Notable brands include Fieldbar, a Cape Town company known for its handcrafted coolers and outdoor products, and Jo Borkett, a South African luxury fashion brand.

What they're saying: "We wanted to create a place where people could treat themselves while also finding unique, meaningful gifts for their loved ones, all under one roof," the team said in a press release to Axios.
Between the lines: Kept & Co. is another locally-owned business to open at The Platform at LoSo, the adaptive reuse development off South Blvd. which has seen a slew of recent openings, including Seaboard Brewing and Sun's Kitchen.
What's next: Following the soft opening on Aug. 26, Kept & Co. will hold its grand opening on August 30.
