Pizza joint 800º Carolinas and BAR ONE Lounge, a cocktail bar, are expanding to Uptown.
Why it matters: Uptown continues to recover from the slow foot traffic brought on by the pandemic, with an influx of events, new businesses and a push from city leaders to make it a place where people want to spend time.
Dig in: 800º's 1,130-square-foot, lower-level space will open at The Alley at Latta Arcade, formerly known as Latta Arcade, this spring. Expect pizza, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, plus beer and wine on tap.
This summer, BAR ONE Lounge will open at The Stuward, formerly known as Packard Place, across from Romare Bearden Park. The 6,100-square-foot bar will be on the ground floor in Not Just Coffee's old spot encompassing the lobby.
- It'll serve La Colombe coffee and local pastries in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. 800° will curate BAR ONE's dinner menu.
- Cocktails will be available until 2am on the weekend.
- The cocktail bar will also have live entertainment at night Thursday through Saturday.
What's next: Renovations on The Alley's common areas and storefronts are expected to be complete this summer.
- Future tenants at The Alley include Maneki, which will open this spring, and The Dumpling Lady, which will open this summer.
