Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is opening a second location for GW, its curated, millennial-focused, mall-style boutique concept stocked with the best brand name items.
The 7,000-square-foot store is located in lower South End at 3609 South Boulevard, directly across the street from the Scaleybark light rail station.
The original GW, located at Goodwill’s Opportunity Campus, opened in June 2016 following a wildly successful proof of concept holiday pop-up shop at the EpiCentre in 2015. It’s become one of the most popular of Goodwill’s 25 Charlotte-area stores.

The thrift store carries men’s and women’s apparel, shoes, accessories and home decor. The catch? It’s the best of the best.
Although you can find brand name items at any Goodwill store, at GW they’re concentrated in curated, creatively styled color-blocked sections for an enhanced shopping experience. Basically it’s a trendier, more intentional store design stocked with mall and designer brands.
Flipping through the racks at GW LoSo, I spotted Lily Pulitzer, Stella McCartney, J.Crew, Banana Republic, Lucky Brand and more.

The larger store features an expanded men’s section as well as men’s and women’s athletic apparel, including brands like lululemon and Nike.
To give you an idea of the scale of selection at GW LoSo, it’s more than 2,000 square feet larger than the 4,800-square-foot original.

GW LoSo will also feature an on-site cafe managed by Goodwill’s Community Table Bistro.
It’ll feature a selection of grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items along with frozen take-and-bake dinner selections.
Menu items include yogurt parfaits, overnight oats, Lunchable-style snack packs and salads. Take-and-bake frozen options include comfort foods like chicken pot pie, mac and cheese and lasagna.
This is Goodwill’s first introduction of food into a retail space.
