An omnivore's take on BOA's new vegan steak

Driving the news: BOA is among the first fine-dining venues to debut Beyond Meat's new steak filets, which come served with steak fries, tomato and a grilled portobello mushroom.

What they're saying: Lee Maen, founder and co-CEO of Innovative Dining Group, which owns BOA Steakhouses, tells Axios they want to create a more "inclusive" dining experience.

My thought bubble: As a meat-eater, I had to get used to the difference in texture, but it's a pretty flavorful steak that comes with some awesome fries.

The vegan steak will be on the menu "for the foreseeable future," Maen says.
