Sure, Austin may feel parched, but that doesn't stop some of our young artists from imagining underwater life.
What's happening: FiveAustin students have won top marks in the Texas division of the Wildlife Forever Fish Art Contest, administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center.
Zoom in: Jessica Ding took first place in the K-3 category (winning $100 — see her image above of a hogfish), with Candice Chen finishing second ($75).
Alice Xie finished third place ($100) in the grades 4-6 category and Rachel Shen won the grades 7-9 category ($200), with Ziheng Wang coming second ($150).
