American Action Network, a top outside group aligned with House GOP leaders, is launching a $22 million ad campaign on Thursday across 41 congressional districts, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: Republicans hope a focus on GOP tax cuts and attacks over transgender health care will help them hold on to their narrow House majority in November despite strong headwinds.
- The ads tout no tax on tips and on Social Security, along with other parts of the sweeping GOP package passed last summer.
- They also accuse Democrats of supporting "extreme policies," such as gender-affirming care for minors.
The details: The digital and TV ad campaign will run from Aug. 13 through Sept. 3.
- The new buy comes on top of $40 million AAN says it has already spent promoting the Republican tax package, which the party has rebranded from the "One Big Beautiful Bill" to the "Working Families Tax Cut."
- The total of $62 million marks the most AAN has ever spent at this point in an election cycle.
- AAN is affiliated with the House leadership super PAC Congressional Leadership Fund.
What they're saying: "Conservatives put working families first by delivering historic tax relief," America Action Network President Chris Winkelman said in a statement first provided to Axios.
- "Meanwhile, far-left lawmakers are obsessed with radical ideas—like raising your taxes and making you pay for sex-change surgeries for kids," he continued.
