Reditus readies for space after raising $7.1 million

Reditus Space raised $7.1 million and is planning to launch its first spacecraft, Enos, next summer via SpaceX rideshare.

Why it matters: While Enos will facilitate commercial microgravity research and manufacturing on mission No. 1, there's another angle: hypersonics.

The intrigue: Reditus is already working with the U.S. Navy and NASA, and is in conversation with the Air Force and Missile Defense Agency, according to executives.

"The Enos reentry vehicle endures a Mach 28-plus reentry environment providing low-cost, high-cadence access to hypersonic conditions," said Mark Ortega, head of business development and strategy.
"Enos provides value as a hypersonic test bed, detection and interception target, and serves as a platform for developing in-house, advanced hypersonic payloads."

State of play: Reditus, headquartered in Atlanta, employs 13 people. It was founded by Stef Crum and Will Sherman.

It was part of the Y Combinator winter 2025 cohort. Backers include Antler and Aera VC.

Threat level: The American hypersonic arsenal trails that of Russia and China, according to an Atlantic Council study first shared with Axios.

Such findings likely motivate the Trump administration's plans for Golden Dome.
