Longtime FGS Global partner Jason Miner is departing the firm to join TLG — a boutique strategic communications advisory — as managing partner, Axios is first to report.
Why it matters: Miner is the latest comms leader to flock to a specialized, independent firm over private equity-backed behemoths.
Catch up quick: Miner has spent roughly 20 years at FGS, having first joined the firm in 2005 when it was known as The Glover Park Group.
- In 2024, WPP sold its roughly 50% stake in FGS to KKR for $775 million.
Zoom in: TLG, which is independently owned, was founded by Molly Levinson in 2014.
- TLG has created a reputation for its litigation support communications, workforce and workplace communications, bankruptcy and restructuring communications and cyber preparedness practice.
- The firm is expanding its presence in New York through its work with capital markets clients, which Miner will play a critical role in supporting.
What they're saying: "TLG delivers such a unique and sought-after offering for clients and is known for its true dedication and reliable expertise. I am excited to help lead the firm for this next chapter as we build on the team's success," Miner said in a statement.
- "Having seen firsthand how indispensable TLG's counsel is to clients navigating the most consequential opportunities and challenges, I look forward to adding to our capabilities."
What to watch: Firms that offer C-suite or board-level advisory services believe they are better positioned in the age of AI, as the tech continues to disrupt the traditional agency model.
