Trump vows to target "political violence" after Kirk's killing

President Trump responded via video to Wednesday's killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk by vowing that his administration "will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity."

What he's saying: Trump declared his administration would also target "other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it" in the video posted to Truth Social, which paid tribute to the 31-year-old Turning Point USA co-founder.

Zoom in: "Charlie Kirk traveled the nation joyfully engaging with everyone interested in good faith debate," Trump said in the address, referencing Kirk's "Prove Me Wrong" tables, like the one he was holding at Utah Valley University when he was shot on Wednesday.

"For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world's worst mass murderers and criminals," Trump said, addressing critics of Kirk, who've accused him and Turning Point of bigotry.
"This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we're seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now," Trump said.
Trump praised Kirk as "a man of deep, deep faith" and offered prayers to his family.
