Rudy Giuliani hospitalized after car crash in New Hampshire

Driving the news: Giuliani's security chief, Michael Ragusa, said in a statement posted to X that the the 81-year-old was "flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident" prior to the crash.

• "Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911," Ragusa said.
• "He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety" and his vehicle was later struck while traveling on the highway, per Ragusa.

Zoom in: Giuliani was taken to a nearby trauma center "where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg," Ragusa said.

• Goodman and the driver of the other vehicle, identified as Lauren Kemp, 19, of Concord, N.H, also sustained "non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for treatment," police said.

• Giuliani is "in good spirits and recovering tremendously," Ragusa said.
• Both vehicles were "heavily damaged" in the crash, according to police.
• No charges have been filed, but police said "all aspects of the crash remain under investigation."
