Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is preparing to return to D.C. for talks with President Trump on ending Russia's war on his country, six months on from his infamous White House meeting — this time flanked by European leaders.
The big picture: It's been 1,271 days since Moscow's forces launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and after Trump's talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, U.S. officials acknowledge a peace deal is unlikely to culminate from Monday's meeting. Meanwhile, fighting continues in war-ravaged Ukraine.
