Scoop: Alex Latcham joins Cory Gardner to run Senate Leadership Fund

Top Trump campaign staffer Alex Latcham will be executive director of the Senate Leadership Fund, with former Sen. Cory Gardner serving as CEO and chairman of the board, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: The powerful Senate super PAC is getting new leadership as Senate Majority Leader John Thune takes over from Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

"From his experience in the Iowa caucuses to his work in the White House and on the Trump campaign, Alex has been at the forefront of some of the highest-profile political battles over the past eight years," Gardner told Axios in a statement.
"I look forward to working with him as we lead SLF and build upon last cycle's historic success."
