Martin Shkreli ordered to surrender all copies of rare Wu-Tang Clan album

• But the U.S. government sold it as part of a forfeiture judgement of about $7.4 million in 2018 following Shkreli's conviction on federal wire and securities fraud charges.

Driving the news: PleasrDAO, a collective of decentralized finance leaders, early NFT collectors and digital artists that now owns the album, accused Shkreli in a lawsuit of retaining digital copies of the album and widely disseminating them.

What we're watching: Judge Pamela Chen in her ruling ordered that Shkreli file by Sept. 30 a signed inventory that includes the names and contact details of anyone who received copies of "Once Upon A Time in Shaolin."

What they're saying: PleasrDAO attorney Steven Cooper in a media statement that called Chen's ruling ''an important victory for our client" said the group was "pleased that Judge Chen recognized that immediate relief was necessary to thwart the continuing bad acts of Mr. Shkreli."

• Edward Paltzik, a lawyer for Shkreli, told AP that Chen's ruling kept "the perceived status quo" of the lawsuit's progress and it had "no bearing whatsoever on the final outcome of the case."
