Trump proposes new debate with Kamala Harris on Fox News

• Fox News hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum would moderate the newly proposed debate which would take place in Pennsylvania, Trump said in a Truth Social post on Friday.

Driving the news: Trump said in the same Truth Social post that due to his litigation against ABC News and journalist George Stephanopoulos, whose last name Trump intentionally misspelled, the ABC debate would pose a "conflict of interest."

• Trump's lawsuit against ABC News and Stephanopoulos was filed in March before the former president and President Biden agreed to the debate in May.
• Both Harris and Trump have said they are willing to debate before the election, and Harris' campaign is pushing for the Sept. 10 date.

What they're saying: "Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out," Harris' communications director Michael Tyler said in a statement emailed to Axios on Saturday.

• "He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept 10. The Vice President will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime time national audience."

• Trump said in another Truth Social post that he'll "see her on September 4th" or not "at all."
