VP Harris releases first campaign ad featuring Beyoncé song

• "We choose freedom," Harris said in the ad. "The freedom not just to get by, but get ahead."
• Since Harris announced her campaign on Sunday following President Biden's shocking exit from the race, her campaign has announced a record 24-hour fundraising haul and gained support from elected Democrats as well as more than 100,000 new volunteers.
• Harris' campaign got approval to use "Freedom" throughout the race from Beyoncé's representatives, CNN reported.

State of play: Part of the video shows former President Trump's mugshot and headlines of his federal criminal cases.

• "There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos, of fear, of hate," Harris said, overlayed on clips of Trump and his vice presidential candidate, Sen. JD Vance (R-Oh.).

Among her campaign's top issues are gun reform, reproductive rights, ameliorating child poverty and health care affordability.

• "When we fight, we win," she said.
