Flashback: The last time Netanyahu met Trump was at the White House in September 2020 at the signing ceremony of the Abraham Accords, which Trump brokered.

Context: The Israeli prime minister has been courting Trump, who's held a grudge against Netanyahu for years.

• "F**k him," Trump told Axios about Netanyahu in April 2021, during a rant over Netanyahu congratulating President Biden for winning the presidency in 2020.

Behind the scenes: The chaotic situation of the presidential elections together with Biden's COVID illness has thrown Netanyahu's visit in limbo.

• Netanyahu's people scrambled to figure out how they could squeeze in his speech in Congress on Wednesday and meetings with Biden, Vice President Harris and Trump.

Zoom in: On Tuesday, the meetings with Biden and Harris were finally scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the White House and Netanyahu's people were working on a meeting with Trump on Friday in Florida.

• But then on Tuesday afternoon, Trump posted on his account on Truth Social that he is going to meet Netanyahu on Wednesday — the day the Israeli Prime Minister was supposed to speak to Congress.
• Netanyahu's team was surprised because they had been talking to Trump's people on holding the meeting on Friday, per a Netanyahu aide.

• Minutes later, Trump sent out a corrected post and said the meeting would take place on Thursday.
• This only lasted for another few minute when the former president published a new post and wrote that at Netanyahu's request the meeting was moved to Friday.

What they're saying: "Looking forward to welcoming Bibi Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida," Trump wrote.

• "During my first term, we had Peace and Stability in the Region, even signing the historic Abraham Accords - And we will have it again," he added.
• Trump stressed that the wars in Ukraine and Gaza must end and claimed he will do it with his "peace through strength" agenda.
• "Millions are dying, and Kamala Harris is in no way capable of stopping it," he wrote.

Between the lines: Netanyahu's son Yair has been living in Miami over the last year, and his birthday is this Friday.
