Rally shooting spurs bill to boost security for Biden, Trump and RFK Jr.

What they're saying: "As reports continue to emerge, it's clear that more protection is needed for all major candidates for president," Reps. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) and Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) said in a joint statement.

• "That's why we're planning on introducing bipartisan legislation providing President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump, and presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. with enhanced Secret Service protection," the two lawmakers continued.

• In a letter to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle on Sunday, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) wrote: "Will the Secret Service reconsider its denial of protection for Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.?"
