Primary challengers to two progressive "Squad" members on Wednesday got support from another well-funded pro-Israel Democratic PAC: Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI).

Why it matters: DMFI PAC has about $3 million to spend in these races, according to Federal Election Commission filings – a considerable sum in a congressional primary.

Driving the news: DMFI PAC announced Wednesday it is endorsing St. Louis, Mo. prosecutor Wesley Bell and Westchester County, N.Y. Executive George Latimer.

  • Bell and Latimer are challenging Reps. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) and Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), respectively.
  • DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman said Bush has a "longstanding enmity towards Israel" and that Bowman has a "troubling track record" on the issue.
  • "We look forward to helping Mr. Latimer," Mellman said, adding, "We're going to do everything we can to help Wesley Bell[.]"

State of play: DMFI PAC joins the Jewish Democratic Council of America, a group more closely aligned with the Democratic party, which endorsed Bell and Latimer last week.

  • It was the first time the group, known as the Jewish Dems, endorsed against incumbent Democrats.
  • The endorsements underscore how Bush and Bowman are seen as uniquely vulnerable due to their respective legal issues.
  • By contrast, major Jewish and pro-Israel groups have not yet thrown their full weight behind challengers to Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Summer Lee (D-Pa.).
