Timeline: How Fox responded to Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly

Fox News announced today that ratings giant Bill O'Reilly will no longer appear on its network, another major move for the top cable channel, which split ways with Roger Ailes in July.

Update: Bill Shine, who served as co-president since the Murdoch family ousted Ailes, resigned on May 1.

Queen Elizabeth II agrees to "period of transition" for Harry and Meghan

Queen Elizabeth II said in a statement Monday she has agreed to a "period of transition" in which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, will split time between the United Kingdom and Canada, after the pair announced last week they would "step back" as senior members of the royal family.

Why it matters: It's an expression of support that follows an emergency family summit this weekend. The queen said she would have "preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family," but respects their wish to live a "more independent life."

Why firing the CEO of a company doesn't change anything

When a CEO is forced out of a company, a lot of people hope and expect big changes. Much like Inigo Montoya in "The Princess Bride," those people are going to have to get used to disappointment.

Why it matters: It's big news when names like Dennis Muilenburg of Boeing and Travis Kalanick of Uber are forced out of their jobs. But that doesn't mean the company is going to change. The reality is that corporate cultures change slowly if at all.

Trump takes to Twitter on impeachment day

President Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday, firing off dozens of tweets and retweets by 1pm ET as the House simultaneously moved to take up the articles of impeachment against him.
