Sen. Kamala Harris is already exciting parts of the Democratic base that Joe Biden needs the most help turning out, a new Axios-SurveyMonkey poll finds.

• Black women especially — but also Black men, Hispanics, and Democrats and independents across the board — say they are more likely to vote for Biden with Harris on the ticket, reports Axios' Margaret Talev.

By the numbers: The survey shows that at least for now Harris has the highest net-favorable rating with all Americans of the four nominees , at 36% favorable to 34% unfavorable (+2 percentage points).

• That compares with Vice President Mike Pence (-5), Biden (-7) and Trump (-11). But Harris also is the least known, with 27% of respondents saying they don't yet know enough about her to form an opinion.

What they're saying: "The initial, modestly positive take on Harris is sure to encourage Democrats," says SurveyMonkey chief research officer Jon Cohen, calling it "a solid start for a party that needs tight unity to win back the White House."

• Still, Cohen cautions against reading too much into the initial feedback, saying it could change with fresh Republican opposition and as voters get to know her better, and that "it’s far too early to see any clear impact on the campaign itself."

Belarusians are forming human chains of solidarity as they protest police crackdowns after the disputed election of authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko, AP reports.

• Hundreds of women formed long “lines of solidarity” in several areas of the capital, Minsk.
• Many were dressed in white and carried flowers and portraits of loved ones who have been detained during protests that began shortly after Sunday’s vote, which they said was rigged.

Dozens of military and police veterans have posted videos dumping their uniforms and insignia in the trash. Several popular anchors at Belarus’ state TV stations have quit.

• Nearly 7,000 people have been detained and hundreds injured in the clampdown on demonstrators protesting the official results that said Lukashenko won 80% of the vote and his top opposition challenger got only 10%. Police have broken up protests with stun grenades, tear gas, rubber bullets and severe beatings.
