Halloween is more than just one weekend of parties and trick-or-treating. Here's how you can celebrate in the coming weeks.
🎃 Corn mazes and pumpkin patches
- Farmland Adventures in Springdale — Pick a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch and take the kids to the 9-acre corn maze. Plus, this place has a petting zoo and pony rides. Open Thursday-Saturday until Nov. 4; tickets $10-$14.
- Rivercrest Orchard in Fayetteville — In addition to the corn maze and pumpkin patch, enjoy pumpkin painting, face painting and apple picking. Open Thursday-Sunday through Oct. 29; tickets $13.
- McGarrah Farms in Pea Ridge — Pick your own pumpkin or purchase one from our prepicked selection. Enjoy a hayride or corn maze while you're there. Open daily except Tuesday through Halloween; admission $12.
🙋 Test your spooky knowledge at trivia — Try Stephen King trivia at Boston Mountain Brewing in Fayetteville on Oct. 14, "supernatural" trivia at Black Apple Hard Cider in Springdale on Oct. 16, or Halloween movie trivia at Rendezvous Junction Brewing Co. in Rogers on Oct. 26.
Ozarktober — This family-friendly festival in downtown Springdale features live music from regional blues and bluegrass artists, hayrides and beer sampling. Oct. 13-14; tickets start at $5.
🧑🎨 Friday the 13th figure drawing — Draw a model wearing a Halloween costume at Art Ventures in Fayetteville; tickets $20.
📚 An evening with R.L. Stine — The "Goosebumps" author who entertained young readers with paranormal tales will be at Fayetteville Public Library on Oct. 26 as part of the True Lit festival.
2. Have a horror-themed drink at this pop-up bar

Nightmare on Block Street, a pop-up bar at Pinpoint in downtown Fayetteville, is a mandatory Halloween activity for ages 21 and up.
The scene: It's decked out in Halloween decor from floor to ceiling. Each booth has a different horror pop-culture theme ranging from Scooby Doo to Friday the 13th. And the bar's usual pinball machines are still up for grabs.
The menu: Super gimmicky with one "blood bag" cocktail coming in an IV bag, test-tube shots and a frozen, pumpkin spice "Scooby whip."
- The Monster Mash with bourbon, Aperol, lemon, rosemary and orange bitters comes in a lighted cup with plastic vampire teeth. Order it with the Graveyard Cake — you "dig" into this chocolate cake and can eat the white-chocolate skeleton.
When and where: 4pm-2am Tuesday-Sunday at 23 North Block Ave. in Fayetteville.

Zoom out: Here are a few nonalcoholic options for spooky treats:
- For the hungry monsters: Bentonville is home to a horror-themed food truck year-round. Stop by The Witching Hour on Southwest A Street, where onion rings are "crop circles" and you can get a Texas Coleslaw Massacre or Bio-Eggsorcist burger.
For the little goblins: Take the kids to Rick's Bakery in Fayetteville to decorate a witchy black-cat cake, a haunted gingerbread house or a witch's cauldron cake. Tickets $35-$45; several class times are available.
3. Four haunted houses for the brave

- Inside Lokomotion Family Fun Park at 4520 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville
- Opens at 7pm Friday-Sunday starting Oct. 13, plus Oct. 30-31

4. Ghost and get out of town

We're about an hour's drive from a "haunted" hotel and ghost tours in charming Eureka Springs in Carroll County.
- Take a friend and have an ultimate spooky weekend at the Crescent Hotel. Book one of the ghost tours and learn about the guests "who checked in but have never left." There's even a tour designed for kids ages 7-12.
- Take a downtown walking tour of the city and hear ghost stories most nights. Get tickets for $23.
- Check out an immersive theater experience — "I Haunt You" — at The Melonlight Ballroom. It follows three couples all played by the same actors with haunted love stories. Showtimes are available every Friday and Saturday night this month; tickets start at $47.
