Signs of summer: Jazz in the Garden is back

Zoom in: The season kicks off with R&B fusion from the Lao Tizer Band. Other highlights include local soul vocalist Kyaira (June 13) and Afro-Uruguayan jazz band Gastón Reggio Group (June 20).

How it works: The popular series (through July 11) runs on a lottery system.

• The lottery starts each week before the concert, opening Monday at 10am and closing Friday at noon.
• NGA will notify all entrants of their status on the Monday before each concert.
• Lucky selectees can register for up to four passes. Registration is required for anyone 2 and older.
• Limited passes will also be available at all entrance gates on a first-come, first-served basis on concert evenings starting at 5pm.

Between the lines: You don't need to wait long for NGA fun. The museum's final National Gallery Night party of the spring season is May 8 (lottery opens April 28) with a swinging theme: 70s Disco Prom.
