Washington saw some majorly expensive real estate deals last year — including D.C.'s priciest-ever home sale.
The big picture: There was a flurry of multi-million dollar property sales toward the end of 2024 as President Trump's wealthy administration began to move into town — a development some attributed to the "Trump bump."
Here are the top three DMV home sales of 2024, per data shared by Bright MLS:
#3: $10.5 million
Where: Georgetown; 28th Street NW
The buyer: Sen. David McCormick (R-PA), reports the Wall Street Journal.
Peek inside: Eight bedrooms, eight baths and 11,158 square feet.
- Plus: An elevator, wine storage and five fireplaces.
#2: $11.8 million
Where: Georgetown; N Street NW
The buyer: Cox Society LLC, per D.C. property records.
- The seller was Joshua Bernstein, the CEO of real estate group Bernstein Management Corp., the Washington Business Journal reports.
Peek inside: Six bedrooms, seven baths and 9,132 square feet.
- Plus: An exercise room, four fireplaces and front and rear gardens.
#1: $25 million
Where: Foxhall; Foxhall Road
The buyer: Commerce secretary Howard Lutnick.
- The seller was Fox News host Bret Baier, per the Wall Street Journal.
The intrigue: It takes the record for most expensive D.C. home sale.
