What to know about the Spirit's sold-out (but still watchable) Saturday semifinal

Threat level: High. They're taking on defending champs NJ/NY Gotham FC.

Driving the news: Tickets sold out within 72 hours of the Spirit's exciting 2-1 overtime win against Bay FC last weekend, according to team reps. It's the third sold-out game of the season for Audi's 20,000-person stadium.

• Fans can still snag verified resale tickets on sites like Ticketmaster (starting around $95).

The big picture: The Spirit are charging through an exciting season under new head coach Jonatan Giráldez, who previously led Barcelona's women's team. They've won 18 matches — clinching the #2 seed in the playoffs — and scored 51 goals, setting a new club record.

• Four players are finalists for league awards, including star forward Trinity Rodman, who's up for Most Valuable Player.

If you go: Continuing the blackout playoff theme, fans are encouraged to wear dark colors. A bunch of fun activations in/around Audi Field include:

• Pregame at Solace Outpost in Navy Yard beginning at 10am. A supporters "Spirit March" heads to the field around 10:45am.
• Tailgate at Sandlot Bar open outside of Gate A, which will have a vendor market with caffeinated drinks and pastries, a Trinity Rodman hair braiding station, and spots for face painting, tailgate games and poster making.

• Halftime show by DC rapper DJ Kool, plus giveaways for fans (the first 6,000 to arrive get a trucker hat).
• Spiritville pregame family fun with a soft play zone, face painters and more. Fans can meet DC United star Bill Hamid at the ESPN 630 DC concourse booth.
• Post-game deals at nearby bars, including $5 beers at Dacha and Bluejacket's $15 "Holy Trinity" special (burger, fries and a beer).
