Commanders vs. Ravens is like the DMV Super Bowl

If the Commanders beat the Ravens on Sunday, be prepared for the biggest bandwagon, hype train, supernova of fandom to consume Washington.

Why it matters: Quarterback Jayden Daniels and co. are bouncing on a four-game winning streak, making this regional face-off the most hotly awaited game of football for D.C. in recent memory.

State of play: The momentum fueling the Commanders (4-1) will collide with the high-power Baltimore Ravens (3-2) — and their star quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

Everyone is comparing Daniels, a 23-year-old rookie, to Jackson, a 27-year-old 2x MVP.
Both teams have electric offenses, so expect a high-scoring game.

What they're saying: "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can't wait for Commanders at Ravens. I mean, could this be a Super Bowl preview?" longtime sports commentator Skip Bayless posted on X.

Between the lines: While many people wanted the game to be broadcast primetime, kickoff is 1pm, airing on CBS.

What we're watching: The Commanders defense, which shined against the Browns last week, will have to contend with Derrick Henry, the Ravens running back who has been likened to a wrecking ball.

The Ravens are still slightly favored to win, making an underdog victory even more consequential if Washington pulls it off.
Going 5-1 would also catapult Daniels in short fashion from a player viewed with cautious optimism to a superstar.
