Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs fulfilled his promise to gift Howard University $1 million.
Why it matters: Diddy presented the donation after making a pledge during the 2022 BET Awards to gift money to his alma mater and to Jackson State University's football program.
- He performed at the school and made the announcement last Friday.
What they're saying: "As someone who attended Howard University and values the transformative experience of historically Black colleges, it remains crucial that we strive to protect and uphold their legacy," Combs said, per WJLA.
Flashback: He also donated to the school in 2016 for scholarships and internship opportunities, the school paper Hilltop reported.
