By the numbers: The Timberwolves, who are all-in on their championship quest, have the four highest-paid athletes in Minnesota, according to an Axios analysis of Spotrac data.
- Unless they make another big move, the Wolves will have a $217 million payroll next season, the second highest in the league.
Between the lines: There's just one Twin and one Wild player on the list this year.
- Wild winger Kirill Kaprizov will be the NHL's second highest-paid player next season thanks to the lucrative contract he signed last September.
- The team is also trying to sign his teammate, Quinn Hughes, to a deal likely to rival Kaprizov's.
