Former Hubert's building is back up for lease

Driving the news: Last week Garfield Clark, an advisor to the trust that owns the building, listed the building at 601 Chicago Ave. for lease.

• He told Axios that an operator that had planned to open a luxury sports bar concept called Namos in 2025 had an issue getting a liquor license and had to bail.

What's inside: Clark said the building has a new HVAC system and roof, plus a large vent hood for a kitchen. The space is otherwise fairly raw, and he's looking for an experienced restaurant group to come finish it.

Between the lines: Yes, there's the 10 or so Vikings home game crowds — but Clark noted the stadium also hosts plenty of non-football events, plus the building is on a major commuter thoroughfare out of downtown and has its own 22-space parking lot.

• It's also right next to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where most employees can't work remotely.

The bottom line: Vikings fans need a bar this close to the stadium to drown their sorrows.
