Fried chicken restaurant Revival is reopening under new ownership

• The group will reintroduce the restaurant this week via its food truck, which will be parked in downtown Minneapolis this Wednesday for lunch and stop at two southwest metro breweries this weekend.
• The team is also "actively scouting" for a brick-and-mortar location, per a release.

Flashback: After nearly 10 years in operation, Revival closed all four locations with no notice in January in part due to financial issues, owners told the Minnesota Star Tribune.

The intrigue: Though Jester Concepts owns the original recipes, there might be some fried chicken competition in the south metro.

• Revival's former chef and co-owner Thomas Boemer was recently named culinary director at south metro restaurant group Wondrous Collective and is adding his spin on fried chicken sandwiches to every restaurant's menu, he said earlier this month.
• Boemer is also involved in the Revival project and will have an equity stake in any future brick-and-mortar spots, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reported.
