Revival abruptly closed all of its restaurants over the weekend, nearly 10 years after its fried chicken took the Twin Cities by storm.
What they're saying: "We are unable to see a path forward and be financially responsible to our staff and core costs," co-owner Nick Rancone told Minnesota Monthly.
Flashback: Revival was an instant hit when it opened on South Minneapolis' Nicollet Avenue in 2015. Chef Thomas Boemer was semifinalist for a James Beard award in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Rancone and Boemer subsequently opened Revival restaurants in St. Paul and St. Louis Park and operated a smoked meats stall at The Market at Malcolm Yards.
The closures also came as a surprise to employees. More than 100 workers lost their jobs, according to the Star Tribune.
