The Timberwolves will open the playoffs against LeBron James, Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Driving the news: Despite winning 17 of their last 21 games, the Wolves only managed to snag the No. 6 seed in a stacked Western Conference.
That means they travel to Los Angeles this weekend to take on a storied franchise that once called Minneapolis home.
Flashback: The Wolves' deep playoff run last spring was halted by Dončić, then a Dallas Maverick, whose brilliance sunk Minnesota's hopes of making the NBA Finals.
Now Dončić, freshly traded to the Lakers, is paired with one of the NBA's all-time greats in James.
The bottom line: This is bound to be a must-watch series for fans beyond just Southern California and Minnesota.
