Food news roundup: Hope Breakfast Bar heads for the suburbs

Hope Breakfast Bar has aggressive expansion plans beyond its current trio of restaurants in St. Paul, St. Louis Park, and Eagan.

Parent company Purpose Restaurants has signed leases for a strip mall near Edina's Centennial Lakes Park and at the site of a former Famous Dave's in Woodbury, near I-494 and Valley Creek Road, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

  • Co-owner Brian Ingram told the paper that he's planning to open two or three additional restaurants this year, plus three or four per year going forward.

πŸ” TokiDoki Burger opened Friday at 3406 Nicollet Ave. It's by the same owner of the next-door Ramen Kazama. The Minneapolis restaurant serves burgers with Japanese flavors, according to Southwest Voices.

πŸ₯ž The Twin Cities' last Pannekoeken Huis has closed its doors after 25 years in Edina. The owners say their lease was up and they haven't ruled out reopening somewhere else, according to the Star Tribune.

🍷 The new South Lyndale Liquors store in Minneapolis opened its wine bar last week, with 24 varieties on tap. It's open Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 3pm to 8pm. Also, they've got good sandwiches.
