The big picture: From free Shakespeare plays and museum admission to block parties and comedy, there's plenty happening in San Francisco this long weekend.
Friday
🎨 Stroll the Castro Art Walk.
- 5–8pm at participating locations.
- The self-guided walk winds through art installations, galleries and neighborhood businesses.
🚲 Say "I do" at Pedal Down the Aisle, a wedding-themed SF Bike Party ride.
- 7:30pm
- The ride starts at Dolores Park Tennis Courts and ends at Civic Center. Modern Mexican wedding attire is encouraged as two Bike Party riders tie the knot.
Saturday
🎭 Catch Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra" at McLaren Park.
- Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 2pm.
🎶 Dance it out to Purple Disco Machine and RuPaul DJ sets at the Electroluxx Block Party.
- 3pm at The Midway.
🪄 Watch 1,200 drones light up Oracle Park at the Harry Potter drone show.
- Doors at 6:15pm; show at 8:15.
🍿 Catch an outdoor screening of "Black Panther" at Yerba Buena Gardens.
- Pre-show at 6:30pm; movie around 7:30.
- Bring a blanket or low lawn chair for the free screening.
Sunday
🚘 Roll through the SF Chinatown Car Show & Parade for classic cars, lion dances and live music.
- 10am–3:30pm on Grant Avenue.
- The car parade starts at 3pm.
🎨 Sip, snack and shop at the Millbrae Art & Wine Festival.
- Saturday and Sunday, 10am–5pm.
- Expect art vendors, food, drinks and live music.
Monday
🎺 Enjoy a free Labor Day Golden Gate Park Band concert.
- The holiday program includes patriotic favorites and classic bandstand tunes from 1 to 2:30pm.
🎤 End the long weekend laughing at The Function's Labor Day Comedy Festival.
- Shows run all weekend, with Monday sets at 7 and 8:30pm.
- Bonus: Happy hour runs all night on Labor Day.
What else to expect: Getting around might be tricky.
- Northbound Highway 101 will close between Cesar Chavez and 10th Street from 11pm Friday through 6am Monday. Caltrans recommends I-280 or public transit.
