San Franciscans looking to trace their family history will have a chance to learn how at a free Genealogy and Family History Symposium at the Main Library next week.
What to expect: The free two-day conference includes 19 sessions on genealogy research examining how to use library collections and digital tools.
Speakers from local genealogy organizations will also share strategies for researching ancestors across a range of backgrounds, including African American, Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese and Russian families.
This year's event also features new discussion groups focused on Chinese, Japanese and Russian American genealogy.
