Known for more than just selling ice cream, Toy Boat by Jane has an eclectic mix of retro decor, whimsical collectibles and old-school sweet treats.
The beloved neighborhood staple first opened in 1982 and was purchased in 2020 by Jane the Bakery owner Amanda Michael after longtime founders Jesse and Roberta Fink retired.
Today, the shop pairs Jane's pastries and breads with scoops from Mitchell's Ice Cream and Hometown Creamery while maintaining the original aesthetic that's made it a destination for generations of locals.
๐ Congrats to Missy S. for being the first to guess correctly and thank you to the many readers who politely corrected my mental mix-up. I mistakenly wrote that the shop is located in the Inner Sunset when, of course, this action figure-filled treasure trove is in the Inner Richmond.
๐ด Don't forget to ride the coin-operated pony during your next visit.
