Mexico fans could not have been more overjoyed after their team became the first country to reach the knockout stage of the World Cup.
Mexico defeated South Korea 1-0 last Thursday in Guadalajara after capitalizing on a defensive mistake in the second half to score the match's lone goal, securing its spot in the round of 32.
El Tri fans in San Francisco celebrated late into the night, with chants of "México, México" echoing through bars and restaurants across the city.
