What better place to eat a burrito than Ocean Beach at sunset? Photo: Nadia Lopez/Axios
I ended up atLeo's Taco Truck in the Outer Sunset recently after completing a long bike ride through Golden Gate Park and left fully convinced that this is my new favorite go-to Mexican spot.
I had the California burrito ($15) with carne asada. The steak was tender, the fries stayed perfectly crisp and the gooey cheese tied it all together.
What really sealed the deal were the salsas — they were actually spicy!
The salsa roja had a slow-building, smoky heat that sneaks up on you in the best way. The two verdes were both bright and sharp from the tomatillos, but make sure to ask for the one with an extra kick.
🌮 I'll have to try their $3 al pastor tacos next, which are apparently their claim to fame.
