This adorable San Francisco pooch will star in the Puppy Bowl

If the 49ers don't make it to the Super Bowl, fear not — there's always the Puppy Bowl.

State of play: Animal Planet will air Puppy Bowl XXII, its annual adoption event featuring puppies playing football, on Super Bowl Sunday.

• This year, Foggy will represent San Francisco in the big leagues. She was only a few weeks old when she was brought to the Fresno Animal Center and later transferred to the San Francisco SPCA, per the San Francisco Chronicle.
• Foggy has since been adopted but will bring her energy — "playful, hilarious, and a little sassy" — to the showdown as a member of Team Ruff.

👵 Senior dogs will also be spotlighted in a special exhibition game for the first time (Team Oldies vs. Team Goldies).
