The Castro holiday tree lighting dazzles

The Castro was packed with Santa hats and ugly sweaters last week for its annual holiday tree lighting.
Emceed by Donna Sachet — the first lady of the Castro herself — the event featured performances from the San Francisco Pride Band and the Gay Men's Chorus, plus a visit from Santa.
- Before the lighting, Sister Roma of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence blessed the tree and told the crowd: "The Castro is a cherished gem, a world all our own."
