How to celebrate Día de los Muertos in SF

Here are a few events to check out:

💃 Hasta La Muerte: Las Cafeteras, a Grammy Award-winning band, combine choreography, costumes and poetry in this two-act theatrical performance.

• 7:30pm Thursday at Green Music Center. Tickets start at $31.

🎨 Día de Los Muertos 2025: We Love You: This exhibition showcases traditional altars and contemporary works by women, trans and gender nonconforming artists.

• 3-7pm Thursday, 12-7pm Friday and 12-8pm Saturday at SOMArts Cultural Center.

🎻 San Francisco Symphony: Celebrate Latin American heritage with a concert led by Colombian American conductor Lina González-Granados, accompanied by art installations, altars created by local artists and face-paintings.

• 1:30pm Saturday at Davies Symphony Hall. Tickets start at $62.

🛍️ Día de los Muertos Night Market: Participate in an Indigenous blessing and procession, see performances by Indigenous dancers and explore a community altar and artisan booths.

• 4-9pm Saturday at Yerba Buena Gardens.

🪘Día de los Muertos Procession: Watch Aztec dancers lead a procession at one of the Mission's most celebrated annual events. Expect to see lowriders, live bands and dance troupes.

• 7pm Sunday at 22nd and Bryant Streets.

🕯️ Festival of Altars: Build your own altar and explore community ofrendas, live performances and interactive art.

• 8am-9pm Sunday at Potrero Del Sol Park.
