"Noche Oscura" brings Mexican horror classics to The Roxie

The films include:

• "Cronos," Guillermo del Toro's 1993 feature debut about vampires.
• "El Barón del Terror" ("The Brainiac"), a campy, supernatural flick revolving around a villainous brains-eating baron.
• "Alucarda," which centers on two teenage orphans living in a 19th-century convent.
• "Las Mujeres Pantera" ("Panther Women"), where Gothic horror meets lucha libre in a Satan-worshipping escapade.

If you go: Screenings run from Oct. 9 through Oct. 27 at 3117 16th St. Tickets are $14 or $33 for a three-film pass.

• "Hasta el Viento Tiene Miedo" (Even the Wind is Afraid), the cult classic from esteemed Mexican director Carlos Enrique Taboada, kicks off the series.
