Sunset Night Market returns to the Irving Street corridor tonight with a new name and the same fun.
The big picture: The Sunset Night Market, spearheaded by former Supervisor Joel Engardio, launched in 2023 and was immediately a smashing success, attracting over 10,000 people.
It was cancelled this summer due to tensions between Sunset merchants and Engardio over his role in permanently closing the Great Highway to cars. (He was recalled earlier this month.)
Community organizers rallied to bring it back. Friday will be the second edition of what's now called Sunset After Dark.
What to expect: A proper buffet, including Texas-style brisket, Noori Pakistani spices and a night-only Smokin D's x Gao Viet Kitchen collab.
Over 50 retail and art vendors, such as Cozy Cubs Puzzle Club and AiTsuki Art.
Live music and performances.
A chance to win a Labubu from the Pin For Love collection.
A LOT of people.
Stop by: 5:30-9pm Friday on Irving Street between 20th and 23rd avenues. RSVP here.
